African Choral Festival as the name depicts, is primarily for selected choirs from around the world to come together under one umbrella. This festival is a platform for cultured exchange and to promote tourism.

Mark,

Don’t know what happened there with the email:

We would very much like to thank you for arranging such an exciting trip for us. We had a great trip and it exceed all expectations. We saw more than we expected. We would like to thank you for knowledgeable guides- James -for his expertise on the birds and Andrews for his charm and delightful character and knowledge of butterflies and birds and of course the charming driver Kewawa for the care and attention and that wonderful laughter and great driving on Ghanian roads. The trio were always there and very helpful and knowledgeable. It made all the difference to our trip. Please personally thank them on our behalf for making our trip such a success with the endless supply of water, biscuits and fruit.
The close sightings of the Picathartes, Egyptian plover and Pel’s Owls were our personal highlights but we also saw grebes, hartlaub’ duck, wolly neck stork, Wahlberg’s eagle, Great sparrow hawk, lovebirds, yellow throat-ed, red-chested , black cuckoos, Blue headed Bee eater, bristle -nosed barbert, various cisticola’s, the close approximation of the elephants, baboons, monkeys etc just to name a few. They were lots of other birds and the list is endless. Great photos too!
You certainly gave us very good value and if anyone is going to Ghana, we would have no hesitation in recommending Ashanti Tours – naturally the best of Ghana can only be seen with Ashanti Tours.

Thank you for such a wonderful trip!

Mark is Ashanti African Tours owner and founder whose love affair with Africa and in particular Ghana started in 1997 when he was 21 years old. He has a passion for conservation and the protection of Ghana’s flora and fauna. Mark’s main focus area is the birding section of the company, he has many years experience in arranging and designing birding tours of Ghana. Mark has a passion for wildlife and in particular birdlife and also organises all of Ashanti’s birdwatching research, he wishes he could dedicate more of his time to birding and not being in the office, but he does officially make the best cup of tea (in his opinion). Eco and wildlife tours are also a passion of his and he works tirelessly on our community development and wildlife conservation initiatives. In his spare time he likes to be with his son Connor and get into the bush as often as possible.

Robert also holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Tourism and previously worked as a park ranger and a tour guide at Kakum National Park between 1995 and 2008 before joining Ashanti African Tours as principle birding and wildlife tour leader/guide. Robert swiftly moved up the ranks within the company and is now Ashanti African Tours Director and a principal tour Guide. Married with six children Robert never tires of being on tour and loves nothing more than to be in the bush researching new sites for Ghana’s rapidly growing quality bird and mammal list.
